Can't Wait For Tuesday Night

20 August 2012

Midfielder hopes to see a big crowd at Meadow Lane for the Pools clash...

Alan Judge was thrilled to see Saturday’s performance restore Notts County fans’ optimism.

Seven days prior to the 2-1 triumph over Crewe Alexandra, supporters were left disappointed after the Magpies were knocked out of the Capital One Cup by League 2’s Bradford City.

However, a hard-working showing at the Alexandra Stadium left the 1,236 away fans with plenty to be positive about at the final whistle.

Judge is hoping that they will turn out in force for County’s first home game of the League 1 campaign against Hartlepool United on Tuesday night.

He told Magpie Player: “Straight after a game like that you’re just thinking immediately about the next game.

“There was a bit of energy taken out of us but when you come to the game on Tuesday night hopefully it’s going to be pretty full.

“All the lads are looking forward to playing the first league game at Meadow Lane.”

He continued: “I know the fans were a bit upset last week and we didn’t play our best.

“You’ve got to remember that there were six new players in the side at the weekend from last year and that’s a lot of players to throw into one team.

“I thought the lads gelled brilliantly and we’ve got so many match winners now.

“There’s Yoann (Arquin), who scored a great goal, and you’ve got (Francois) Zoko, who’s not anywhere near full fitness but played 60 minutes and scored a great goal, there’s Jeff (Hughes) who’s always a threat and I’d like to think that I can score a goal.

“There’s also Lee Hughes and Bish is getting involved with the goals as well, so there’s a lot of goal-scorers here.”
