The Youth Team wrapped up a busy pre-season with an emphatic 5-1 victory over South Nottingham College on Tuesday morning.

The Magpies were 3-1 up at the break thanks for a Kyle Dixon brace and a Malachi Moore strike, before further goals from Elliot Hodge and Moore hitting his second from the spot.

Brett Adams spoke to the Official Site after the final whistle. He said: “I thought it was good preparation for the Hull game, but we know it’s going to be a totally different task on Saturday.

“The score doesn’t tell the whole story as we made a lot of changes throughout the 90. We also managed to get an Under 14, Under 15 and Under 16s onto the pitch, which is really good going forward.

“Key players are now coming into form at the right time. It’s nice to score some goals again, but we would have hoped to score a few more. I thought the work rate was very good.

“I’m also pleased for Kyle. We made him captain for the day and he worked really hard.”

The squad now face Hull City on Saturday for the league opener.
