Kiwomya Named Notts County Manager

23 February 2013

Notts County can confirm that Chris Kiwomya has been named as first team manager for the remainder of the 2012.13 season...

Kiwomya, who joined Notts as development squad manager in February 2012 took control of the first team as caretaker manager earlier this month, following the departure of Keith Curle.

The Board of Notts County have in the short time Chris has been caretaker Manager been suitably impressed by the way Chris has grasped his opportunity. This has been based not just on results but  the way Chris has tackled the job in hand.

“Chris has shown his desire and enthusiasm for the job and coupled this with a tactical astuteness that has allowed him to turn things around when they haven’t been going exactly as we would have liked,” explained Notts County Chairman Ray Trew on behalf of the Board.

“We think Chris deserves the chance to build on the work that he has done in the short space of time that he has been in charge of first team affairs and we are happy to confirm that he will be at the helm until the end of the current campaign.

“We will, of course, review the situation at the end of the season, but Chris now has the chance to show us exactly what he can do, in the knowledge that he has an extended spell in charge.”

Kiwomya’s first game as manager, as opposed to caretaker manager, will be away to Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday evening, followed by a home game against Carlisle United on Saturday 2 March, kick-off 3pm.
