Norwich City defender Jaden Warner has joined us on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old is a product of the Canaries’ academy and captained their development sides before breaking into first-team circles this season.
After an impressive senior debut against Fulham in the Carabao Cup, Warner was handed Sky Bet Championship starts against Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City.
And Richard Montague, who sits on our board and leads on recruitment, is excited by Warner’s arrival.
He said: “We’re delighted that Jaden and Norwich have decided that Notts is the best place for him at this important stage of his development, despite strong competition from other clubs.
“Our playing philosophy is something that really appeals to Jaden and, with Stuart Maynard now in place as our new head coach, and Jaden having had the opportunity to speak with Stuart over the weekend, everyone was ready to make it happen.
“Standing at 6ft 4’, Jaden brings tremendous pace and power to our back line and, crucially, he has strong defensive instincts in terms of his positioning, anticipation and willingness to put his body on the line.
“Beyond that, he’s excellent on the ball and will be able to contribute a lot for us in build-up phases.”
Maynard added: “Jayden’s someone my management team and I have liked for a couple of years now, but he became inaccessible to National League clubs as he developed through the ranks.
“He’s got a bright future ahead of him and I think it’s a really good signing for the club.”
